Festival Seasons is Here!
Gearing up for Glasto, Home Farm and Sidmouth...
The snow in April was disconcerting, but somehow May has turned things around and it finally feels like summer is coming! And I'm happy to say I will be spending large parts of it in a field, playing some songs and generally having a lovely time.
First up is Home Farm Festival with the lovely people at Folkroom Records. They are home to some of the UK's most exciting folk artists, and are running a stage throughout the weekend - so check them out if your'e planning to be there. I'll be helping to round things off on Sunday afternoon before joining them on the bus back home.
The next one will be Alt Fest - not the controversially cancelled crowd-funded event that didn't happen last year, but a lovely home grown event near Alton in Hampshire. Rory Betts, the brains behind the event, produced an orchestral version of my song Flying Machine last year, and got in touch not long ago to invite me to perform.
Perhaps most excitingly, I will then be heading to the mother of all festivals: Glastonbury, where I have a few slots lined up. More details will be revealed nearer the time, so watch this space!
Not long later, I will then be heading back to Sidmouth Folk Week - one of the festivals I played last year. I'll be joined by the very talented Fernando Sanchez on guitar, and we'll be rooting for the same sunny weather that the organisers laid on last time.
The final one of the summer is Oddstock - another home grown festival being launched this year. Situated in the wonderfully named village of Oddington, the weekend event will be the perfect way to round off a busy summer.
More details to follow soon - so watch this space!
